The Project Management Institute

PMI professionals cover every major industry including, aerospace, automotive, business management, construction, engineering, financial services, information technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and telecommunications.

The PMI has asked Istria’s Technical Director to be an official risk management expert on their behalf. Colin Wheeler joins as the UK Liaison for the PMI’s Risk Special Interest Group (SIG) from January 2006. The Risk SIG is set up to promote best practice project risk management principles, processes, techniques and tools for project managers across the globe.

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC)

Award from Institute

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) works with public sector organisations to help them improve their efficiency, gain better value for money from their commercial activities and deliver improved success from programmes and projects. Following the release of a new version of the Orange Book by the Treasury in 2005, the OGC has been tasked with updating its guidance on the Management of Risk (M_o_R).

M_o_R sets out a framework for taking informed decisions about risk at a strategic, programme, project and operational level to ensure that key risks are identified, assessed and that action is taken to address them. It has been adopted by government organisations and commercial companies throughout the world.

Istria is working with the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in the update of their Management of Risk guidance for practitioners during 2006.
